Why BVSP
In the 7 years since inception, we have introduced courses that successfully set new standards in Photography Education. Now, our courses are evolving to combine leading technology and faculty, putting our students first and thus creating a new breed of professionals who are industry- ready.
All our courses have industry-relevant content and industry-respected faculty to ensure that students get trained by the minds that move the industry. This empowers our students to graduate with a level of unmatched readiness, ensuring that quite a few of them are already being noticed in the worlds of fashion and photography.
Our vision
Our primary goal is to help students develop an artistic eye, which is why we place a strong emphasis on the fundamentals of art and design. Our goal is to teach students to transform images into narratives and in the process, create a signature style that becomes integral to their photographer’s identity. Students graduate with a robust portfolio that gives them an edge in a competitive market.
Our approach
Life is lived hands-on, which is why we believe in imbibing the same approach to our teaching. While classroom learning helps build a foundation, practising that knowledge helps you transform it into skill. Our intensive hands-on approach means that students undergo assignments with the same preparedness and pressures as a real-world shoot, often with creative directors, visualisers and other professionals. This helps create students who are industry ready when they graduate.
Our Courses
The correct choices enable correct decision making. We offer a 3 Year BA (Honours) in Commercial Photography and in Photography & Cinematography. Our 2 Year Diplomas are offered in Photography & Digital Imaging as well as in Photography & Cinematography. We also offer a 1 year Post Graduation Diploma in Commercial Photography, rounding off a bouquet of courses for students of every age and stage.
Our faculty
Our faculty is hand-picked to ensure that you learn from giants of the industry who are acknowledged game-changers in their fields. This ensures that you benefit not only from their impeccable technical knowledge but also from their wisdom earned on demanding shoots. Our resident faculty has a proven track record while our guest faculty comprises of leading photographers like Jaidep Oberoi, Tarun Khiwal, Shirish Desai, Avinash Gowariker, Fawzan Hussain, and others. We also enable interactions with hair and make-up artistes, food stylists, creative directors, and artistes from various disciplines.
Our infrastructure
We have ensured unmatched infrastructure to give you unmatched tools. From multiple studio floors totalling over 14,500 sq.ft to multiple locations on campus; cameras from Hassleblad, PhaseOne, Nikon, Canon, Blackmagic and URSA; ARRI & Kinoflo lighting systems, Sekonic spectrometers; from the best lighting to the newest rigging systems; we have all the tools to teach you the trade.
Our location
Being in Pune affords us several advantages in terms of resources and opportunities. With its vibrant theatre and cultural scene and its wholehearted celebrating of festivals like Ganesh Chathurti, Pune serves up a lot of inspiration as well as shooting opportunities for students. The city also hosts some of the corporate and manufacturing majors like Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto, Mahindra & Mahindra, which represent huge opportunity. Last, but certainly not least, it is 4 hour drive from Mumbai, the film and advertising capital and media Mecca of India, where opportunity awaits you.
